The one thing my son really enjoys are fun games, especially when it involves over-sized dice!! I really like to mix up the learning day with some great games, it can get pretty boring and tears usually start to flow if we are always sitting at the table doing work sheets and what not, so to avoid the stress, we break and play games, educational games!
We are currently working on subjects and predicates. The worksheets we are using are great, but like I said he gets bored and frustrated just sitting doing worksheets, so I came up with a subject and predicate game called, roll a silly sentence.
All I did was make 2 huge dice, which you can watch the video on how to make them here, and wrote subjects on one cube and predicates on the other cube. All you do is roll both dice and put the cubes together, subject first and predicate second and read the sentence. You can create any type of sentences you want, have fun with it, laugh and be silly!
Check out these resources to use with your sentence lesson:
Side note: I used cardboard and covered both cubes with contact paper, but you can make your own dice anyway you want.
What fun games do you play to practice subjects and predicates? Let me know in the comments!
My name is Robin. I am a homeschooling mom of three and I just love to find ways to make learning fun. I am so excited to share my ideas with you. I try to make my ideas as inexpensive as possible. Most of the items I use are things that are around most houses and if you have a printer and ink you are all set. Please feel free to use these ideas in your own learning adventure with your children.
