Update: Alright guys if you enjoyed this blends game and would like other worksheets to go with it you purchase the packet here.
Did you miss me? I haven't been around lately. Personal things going on. I did post about it, you can read it here. Anyways, I am back to creating. My son and I are working on blends and that can get a little boring, so I created this fun game!
I made it pretty simple. When you go to print, you will have 2 options to use. The first is a mini game board, just print and play! The second are the game board pieces, they are a little bigger and can be used to create your own game board. I would use cardboard or poster board. The last page is the playing cards. These will be used with both versions of the game.
Playing is simple. Grab two player pieces (legos, mini action figures, counters..etc.), place them on the start box, grab one die, roll and play! Roll the die, move the number of spaces shown and say the letter blend, find the playing card with the same blend and read the words.
I didn't realize that my last post was in April. I am so sorry for being so quiet, but life is getting in the way. The company I work for is going out of business in like 2 weeks and I am on the hunt for another part time job. This is very stressful for me and I am sure my kiddos are not too excited about doing school with stressful mommy!
A little bit on my job hunt, only because it ties in with homeschooling and hopefully this will resonate with others so I know I am not the only one... ;) If you have been following me you know that I have three kids and they are all in an e-school. My two oldest kids can pretty much get their school stuff done on their own, but my youngest still needs me and with him having difficulty with reading, needs me way more than a normal 9 year old. So long story short, the e-school is not meeting my sons needs, so starting next school year I will be traditionally homeschooling him.
Okay, so back to the job hunt. I have a Masters Degree in Business Management. You would think I wouldn't have a problem finding a job, but I am. I have the education, but not the field experience to go with it. So, when I apply for a part time cashiers job, they are probably thinking that,"Why does this person want a cashiers job when she could get a corporate job" Well, they will never know because they don't call me for an interview, they just move on the next applicant.
I do have a couple of options that could be great for me in the next 5 years when I want to put my career into full swing, but my dilemma is how can I work full time hours and still give my son the best education possible? I am stuck in the typical school day mode, school during the afternoon, it feels weird to be schooling in the evening after 5pm, right?
I guess I am nervous to take that step, to be okay with him playing video games instead of doing school while I would be at work, but on the other hand, if we do school in the afternoon he would be playing video games at night. So really what is the difference, right?
I would love your input, your experiences with working full time and still schooling your children, tell me about it in the comments!
My name is Robin. I am a homeschooling mom of three and I just love to find ways to make learning fun. I am so excited to share my ideas with you. I try to make my ideas as inexpensive as possible. Most of the items I use are things that are around most houses and if you have a printer and ink you are all set. Please feel free to use these ideas in your own learning adventure with your children.
